Crystal Jordan – President
Crystal has a 5th grader and 2nd grader at Chehalem. When she’s not volunteering at the school or working on PTO stuff, she’s working as a pre-kindergarten teacher at A Child’s Way Preschool in Beaverton. She enjoys baking, reading, being outdoors, and watching her children do what they love. As President, Crystal oversees PTO operations; If you have any questions or would like to get involved, reach out to her!

Willy Hughes – Volunteer Coodinator
Willy has a 5th grader at Chehalem and a 7th grader at Rachel Carson. When not helping his wife Kayla expand her Music Together business, he adjuncts in the math department at Umpqua Community College and the theology department at Corban University. He is a former collegiate tennis player but now guides his kids through their softball, golf and STEM experiences. This is his first official year on the PTO, but has been an active parent-at-large. He has found the PTO to be a great and fun way to be involved in his kid’s school. As the Volunteer Coordinator, he is responsible for answering questions and filling volunteer needs at the school.
April Mertens – Treasurer
April is the mother of a 7 year old daughter and a 11 year old son. April is currently a stay at home mom. She enjoys cooking and knitting. April started attending the PTO meetings when her son started kindergarten to learn about school events and programs at Chehalem and meet other parents. April has served on the Chehalem PTO board since June 2016 briefly as secretary and currently as Treasurer. As Treasurer, April is responsible for creating the PTO budget and managing the books and reimbursements. Shannon Byron – Secretary
Shannon is the mother of two boys; one in 5th Grade, and the other in 3rd. She spends her days as an accountant for an industrial tech company, and her evenings chasing the boys to baseball practice, as well as piano, swim, and hockey lessons. In her downtime, Shannon enjoys reading, Netflix, and camping. She absolutely adores the community that she, her husband, and their kids have found as a Chehalem family, and enjoys aiding its students and faculty through the PTO board. As Secretary, Shannon is responsible for keeping meeting minutes and maintaining the website. She is happy to answer questions about what was discussed during meetings.
